Art has always been a big part of my life. Upon retirement, two years ago, I now pursue my art! For the past two years I have maintained a studio at the "Artists Colony of Sumter". Part of downtown redevelopment, this has been an exciting experience for me and other artists. My main interest is "watercolour", (which in deference to my UK background; born in Edinburgh, Scotland),I spell in the British manner! It serves as an eyecatcher, and the beginning of many interesting conversations. I studied art at Manchester University, Regional College of Art in the early 60's. After a career in computer management that spanned almost 30 years, I am happy to be able to paint and enjoy the freedom to try different media. I like to combine pen & ink with watercolour My favorite subjects are flowers and paintings i am doing from a ton of photographs I took on a trip to England and Scotland. Discovering the School of Color was a great step for me. It has improved all aspects of painting and planning harmonious colour schemes Thank you, Michael
